Rethink — One Dollar One Show

Everyone in our industry knows the importance of awards. They can help catapult your career to the next level. Unfortunately, they’re kind of tough to get. That’s why we created the One Dollar One Show — the world's first advertising campaign where the credit list was up for sale.

It was our way of creating a shortcut to advertising fame. And it (kind of) worked.

The Launch Website

Using IndieGoGo, we let creatives buy their way onto the One Dollar One Show credit list. 100% of the money raised went towards entering the campaign into The One Show. The more we raised, the more categories we entered.

The Credits

From Writer to CCO, we sold it all - including "The Chosen One", a $1,000 credit that entitled the purchaser to all the trophies.

Extra Content

To keep interest high, we rolled out new content each week, including LinkedIn trolling, extra perks, and a 24/7 live-stream of a One Show Gold Pencil.

The Results

The campaign picked up buzz in major industry publications and even got the attention of Kevin Swanepoel, CEO of The One Club, who proceeded to hire Rethink to produce The One Show's 2017 Call For Entry campaign.

With 373 backers from over 43 countries, we raised enough money to enter the One Dollar One Show into 10 categories at the One Show.

Did we win a Gold Pencil? Sadly, no. We won something better — The One Club tasked us with creating their next year’s call for entries campaign.
